Stephanie Overton is a Counselor Certified professional with more than 20 years of experience providing counseling, assessment, and behavioral health services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. She specializes in trauma, addiction recovery, relationship challenges, life transitions, mental health concerns, and complex family dynamics.
Stephanie's approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns, build effective coping skills, improve communication, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has facilitated numerous psychoeducational and therapeutic groups, with a particular focus on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, stages of change, emotional regulation, boundaries, self-awareness, and personal growth. She also has extensive experience working with couples seeking to improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, and strengthen their connection.
In addition to counseling services, Stephanie brings extensive experience conducting behavioral health assessments, clinical evaluations, forensic and mitigation work, crisis intervention, release planning, and systems navigation. She has worked with justice-involved individuals, survivors of trauma, families experiencing significant stressors, and individuals facing co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges.
As a Title 26 Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Certified professional, Stephanie understands the complex interactions between trauma, family systems, mental health, child welfare concerns, and community supports. Her background in both clinical and forensic settings provides a unique perspective when helping clients navigate difficult circumstances and life transitions.
